Bookings

Please contact Hub Admin if you would like to visit to ensure the venue is suitable for your event. 

Viewing times will be restricted to when the Hub is not in use. 

 

The Hub can accomodate a maximum of 25 children with accompanying adults at one time. 

 

  1. Please check the bookings page of our website to see if the Hub is available on the day you are interested in booking.
  2. Read our terms and conditions and complete the booking form to request the session.
  3. Hub Admin will be in contact with you via email to confirm receipt of your form, confirm availability and send our invoice. 

Bookings are confirmed after receipt of payment of our invoice.

 

The hub is hired on a session basis. Sessions are mornings 8am-12pm, afternoons 1pm-5pm or evenings 6pm-10pm (weekday only).

The Hub is available for children's parties up to 5 years of age only.

Please contact Thakeham Village Hall for parties for older children.

We accept payment by bank transfer or cheque only.

Our bank detalis will be sent to you with our invoice if you wish to pay by bank transfer.

Our hire fees are based on a session rate. Sessions are weekday either morning, afternoon and evening or weekend morning and afternoon. Please see our Bookings page for our current hire fees.

For birthday parties (up to 5 years of age) a refundable £75 security deposit is payable before the event. Please see our terms and conditions for details. 

Bookings that are of a commercial nature require public liability insurance for the activity booked for. Please email a a copy of your Public Liability Insurance Certificate to Hub Admin before your booking. 

If you are unsure if your booking needs public liability insurance, please contact Hub Admin.

Use of bouncy castles and other inflatable equipment is not permitted inside the building, in the garden, nor in the car park. Foam filled soft play equipment is permitted inside the building only.

Hub Facilities

Yes! The Hub has 6 tables and 36 chairs for adults and 6 tables and 30 chairs for children.

Please return any tables and chairs used during your booking to the store room.

Yes we do.

Our kitchen has a fridge, oven, hob, microwave and kettle for you to prepare food and drinks for your booking.

In the cupboards you will find oven trays  as well as plastic plates, cups and bowls for the children and plates and mugs for adults. We have cutlery in the drawers. 

We do not have any sharp knives in our kitchen for hirer use. This is a safety measure to protect all hirers and their guests from any harm. Please be advised if you require sharp knives for cooking or cutting cakes, please ensure you bring them with you and take them home at the end of your booking. If any knives are left behind, they will be kept in the Hub Admin office for 1 week after notifying you that they have been left behind. Any knives not collected will be disposed of safely. Thank you for supporting us with this safety measure.


Please wash all items at the end of your booking and ensure you have turned off all appliances in the kitchen before leaving.

 

The Hub is heated by underfloor heating and cooled by air conditining. 

The controls for the heating cannot be changed by hirers. Please let the Hub Admin know if you need the Hub to be particularly warm or cold. 

The Hub has limited storage space.  Please speak to Hub Admin if you wish to store equipment at the Hub. Please note any equipment stored is not covered by our insurance and is at your own risk. 

We do. The network name and password can be found on the Information for Hirers document sent to all hirers before their booking or on the wall in the entrance lobby.

Access and Car Parking

Hub Admin will be in contact with you the week before your event and provide you with a door access code.

The Hub has its own car park for hirers and users of the Hub. Additional parking can be found at the football fields and the Village Hall (see map below). Please do not park on the streets near the Hub. 

Safety

The person responsible is the person that made the booking and signed the terms and conditions of hire document. Hub Admin undertake regular safety inspections to ensure the Hub complies with the Health and Safety regulations, but during your hire period you should first carry out a risk assessment of your own, record and report any accidents or equipment faults and ensure you know how to, and inform your guests how to, evacuate the building in an emergency.

A first aid box is located in the kitchen. 

In the event of a fire, the Hub should be evacuated in an orderly manner using the appropriate exits (see plan below), and the Fire Brigade called by dialing 999.

The Fire Assembly Point is located in the car park at the front of the building.

Evacuation Plan

There are fire extinguishers in the entrance lobby as well as near the door to the garden.  

 

The Hub has a no smoking or vaping policy for inside the building and the garden. 

Please do not use any faulty equipment and report any faults or damage to Hub Admin as soon as possible so that they can be rectified quickly.

Accessibility

Yes. The wheelchair access to the building can only be opened from inside the building. 

Please note, it is the responsibility of the hirer to provide any necessary support that a person with disabilities may require.

The Hub will be installing a new accessible entrance door in the near future.
